Torchwood, the Doctor Who spinoff, has officially hit me over the head with a shovel full of Janto and Captain Jack Harkness and his little teaboy have dragged my brain off into their secluded dark office corner. ~_~
Seriously, people.

How am I supposed to resist that?!

Just watched the 4x13 episode of Doctor Who as well. I'm sad, yet excited for the next season of Torchwood (or, well, mini-series/whatever). I want to see where they take it. AND THERE'D BETTER BE SOME HOT JANTO MOMENTS, damn it. o_o
I was actually watching a take/blooper reel from Buffy of James playing Spike and he's just so hot. o_o I've just never been brave enough to wander into that quagmire, even for him. ;_; At least Angel, the main character was Angel and not Buffy. >_

In all seriousness, I don't actually like her in that capacity. When she's being used as the "link to humanity" I find her quite annoying. But on the whole, my rabid fangirlness aside, I'm actually kind of fond of Gwen. I like her as what she is at her core, window-dressing aside: as you said, a way for the viewer to be introduced into the series.
In the end, she tends to become her own character and I like that. I just wished that they...used characters better? Like sometimes they'll have a dramatic scene and Gwen hasn't had a few lines in awhile, so they'll have her doing a job that would be better suited for say Tosh or Ianto (I get ESPECIALLY growly when she starts taking screentime away from Ianto...). Such as when the team was opening the Rift. Gwen, the new girl, shouldn't have been entering the codes. It should have been Tosh, the computer genius, or Ianto, the man who's job it is to know all the codes. But they wanted HER to be facing down Jack. ...Just a misuse.
But all in all, I'm just extremely happy with Torchwood. It's wonderful.
And yeah. Totally hot. xD

Gwen can be quite endearing...like in Something Borrowed, I LOVE THAT EPISODE. Just for the, "DON'T BRING MY HORMONES INTO THIS JACK HARKNESS!"
Plus, she's adorable, I have to admit.
And that's it exactly. I really do wish they used Tosh to her full potential. Owen should have been used better...but they remedied that with the Dead-Owen arc.
I just wish something like that had been done with Tosh too.

I loved Donna. She made me pull for a het pairing, that's how much I loved her. >_o And they just shunted her off! Holy cow! I wanted the Doctor to finally have someone that could keep up with him, you know? Sure, Jack would be fine and all, but a few weeks/months/YEARS without sex and I guarantee Jack would be climbing the damn walls. Considering how the Doctor's gotten so he won't even let Jack say "hello" to anyone anymore because he knows where it leads. xD
Also, Jack's comment in 4x13? The "You don't want to know what I'm thinking right now" about the two doctors and Donna? ♥ I adore him more and more each minute he's on screen. Seriously.
Gwen can be quite endearing, yeah. She really did grow on me. Still would vote 9 times out of 10 for her to bite it instead of Tosh, but that's just because I love Tosh.
The new dynamic of the team is going to be interesting thing to see. There's no longer passive Tosh, and snidely passive-aggressive Owen (with aggression only when he's in the corner). Instead there's EXTREMELY aggressive Gwen, sexual predator Jack ( xD ), and wall of mystery Ianto (who's not really aggressive but still a man of action). Not to mention the slow way Ianto is falling for Jack. *swoons* (Jack, don't break his heart, you bastard...)
And Gareth promised we wouldn't be disappointed. He PROMISED! *crosses fingers*

Jack FREAKS about Project Indigo.
Oh god, I didn't want het...but I definitely wanted more Donna! She was so freaking perfectly awesome.
Have you see The Runaway Bride? It was the christmas special and started off her being on Doctor Who. It. Is. HILARIOUS. As in, I actually came close to wetting myself from laughing so hard!
And, oh, Gareth. *swoons*

Jack: "I met a soldier in a bar."
Ianto: "When was this?"
Jack: "It was strictly professional."
XD I adore that pairing.
You mean the scene where he's upset saying that she's a ton of atoms at the moment?
Gareth!
