The Pacifier

Yeah, this movie? It sucked. Like big time. And that's just wrong because you know what? I was all set to like it. Vin Diesel to me means instant liking of a movie.

However, this movie, either just plain did not suit him, or it was that sucky of a script. I think my opinion of Vin Diesel as an actor may have even sunk a little; that's how bad the movie was.

It could have been good--a better script, some better ACTING, hey, yeah. Could have been. Instead it just relied on bad stereotypes and flat jokes instead of the amazing hotness of Vin Diesel and the surprisingly good looks of the young character Seth (hey! Just looking isn't robbing the cradle, okay?!). Vin couldn't even really bother to act for this one. He's supposed to be a Navy Seal, right? Supposed to be all stereotypically military and intimating in a drill-sergently way. Yeah, a freakin' ball of LINT is scarier than he was in this movie. He wasn't forceful at all. There was no POWER behind the lines. And really, what's the point of having the stereotypical Navy Seal running around, if he's not going to be military-like?

And some of the plot points were just... not. I just couldn't suspend my disbelief for them. Bad plotpoints and bad characters: the bank, the damn boyscouts or whatever the hell they were supposed to be, the over-the-top vice principal/wrestling coach (and how the hell did he get in the fucking play anyway?), etc. And the neighbors? Speaking Korean, then switching to American for the quick ha-ha? Yeah, they fucking grated on my nerves.

The little girl character Lulu, however, was priceless. And I'm not just saying that because I have a fondness for that name. :) But the rest of the movie? Dude, what the fuck ever. Even if the duck did make me laugh.

It really was awful, wasn't it? I was really disappointed too, because you know...

Vin + baby = melting Ang

In principle, that is. It's one of the few movies I've wanted to walk out of. Dave and I wound up MSTing it.

Vin melts me into a pile of goo by just being. I &hearts Vin. :)

...You MSTed it? Like just in the theater or in written form?

In the theatre. I suspect we were the only ones in the cinema who loathed it, everyone else was giggling away happily. This leads me to suspect that we owned the only two brains on the premises.

Obviously. The movie was quite short on actual things to laugh about.

MSTing things on the go is how I watch rentals, when I'm at home and there's no strangers to annoy or anything. Suffice to say, however, that very few people will actually watch movies with me. :D
