(This is my very first comment, so excuse me if I sound like a total douchebag and don't know the 'lingo'!)
I'm a live journal utter virgin, having just found it a couple of days back...and hey that doesn't raise my guilt level at all cos it sounds sort of wholesome and literary and 'book of the month club' styley, ya know, over coffee break at work:-

'ah, well, i spent some time surfing the web and found this little gem called 'Live Journal'- very informative really, you should check it out sometime....'' type thingy.
But then I found some Sam/Dean stories round and about - and my guilt level began to creep higher, but not high enough to prevent me from continuing to read like a real ready-type person, like read a lot that is!
And, now, I've found your LJ and just read 'funny thing about denial' and realise that I've been missing something huger than Sam's old man (hum)- this is just fucking hot, hot, hot, hotter than hotterty hot-hot-hot.
Where have you been all my life? Where have I been all my life? Where has Wincest been all my life, well for the last 5 years or so? And YOUR Wincest, what I've read so far, well, I'm hot and bothered and blushing and trying to type this fast so I can read another one before I have to go to the pub (I live in the UK so we do pubs here, not bars-assuming you're not from the UK I guess?).

Well, I've been HERE, of course! Waiting for you! =D And you've just been busy! Actually, I know how you feel because it was just about two years ago when I found Supernatural and I was like "WHY DID I WAIT?!"

I do not live in the UK. I live in the states. The only pubs that we have are ones that wish that they were English.

I know when I first got into the Supernatural fandom, I attempted to read the entire internet! Let me tell you, it's quite impossible but it will be quite a fun ride. If you ever want some recs for some good authors to read, too, feel free to ask and I'll get some names for you. =D

Hey there, thank you so much for replying so fast! Wow, this LJ is just great.
Ref 'denial' - your 'attempt at angry!sex' was far from an 'attempt' in my mind, it totally worked for me! I esp liked that both of them seemed in character and know they are 'sick fucks' but just don't care.
I read '8 ball' before I went to the pub, which I'm not sure was a good idea as I was seriously considering reigniting something with an ex of mine, just to get the horniness out of my system! Alcohol, fit exes and pre-pub Sam/Dean should maybe carry a 'Danger-Loss of Inhibitions is Highly Likely Warning'! I think i slipped into 'objectification' mode accidentally.
I loved, in '8 ball', the dirty flirting in public that almost results in rough sex on the pool table, but not quite - tantalising! Would be great to read more of that, a bit of public exhibitionism sounds cool/hot to me! Also loved that Dean got to babbling and not caring he was babbling, he was so out of it, or into it depending on your view.
In terms of recs, if possible, not that I'm fussy or anything, but I'm choosing to avoid anything with season 6 spoilers in, cos season 6 hasn't started yet in the UK.
Can I just ask, is NC17 the highest rating in the States? I'm assuming it equates to our '18 certificate' which is the highest here?
I think I like fic that retains the essence of both their characters - like the two I've read of yours so far do.
Not at all choosy hey! Honestly though, any recs would be great please please please.

NC-17, yes, is the highest rating in the states (well, besides X but that's sheer porn). Yeah, I'd imagine that it corresponds to the 18 certificate. It stands for "no children under 17."

Edited video of Sam and Dean? Hmm. I've seen some manips that put them together as a kiss but it's very hard to do so and harder still to do it for a longer amount of time. If you want, though, you can start at Youtube and search for "wincest" (or search lj for video communities with an interest in wincest) in order to find fan vids. Sorry, I'm not too big on the vids so I don't really know any. =(

When you read a fic, feel free to give me your thoughts in the comments! Whatever you like. Authors love that. Feedback is really the only way that fanfic authors get "paid," so!

You know, when I first got into fandom, I couldn't believe that either! xD Especially when you get the people that write the epics! It's very much "how do you find the time?!"

Hmm. Let's see. Other authors. Well, I've been into the J2, lately, so my recs tend to be rather more "the classics" but, hey, I suppose that's exact where you should start, right?

Check out leonidasden for long, plotty, and angsty (not to mention porny. I recommend "Fetters of Fenrir" and some of her shorter wincest ones), dreamlittleyo, rivers_bend, britomart_is, lazy_daze and neros_violin.

Oh, another good way to find good new fics and authors is through the use of "delicious" which is a 'bookmarking' site. Here's mine (http://www.delicious.com/dragonspell/pairing%3Asam%2Fdean) (where I've bookmarked a bunch of fics that I've read and liked over the years), but there are definitely bigger and better ones out there. The great thing about delicious is that you can look for fics based on fandoms, pairings, authors, kinks, word counts, lots of thing. =)

I'm sure I'll have fun looking for manips etc. I'm a bit torn cos reading in your head, can be so much better than seeing in the flesh, as it were - but why restrict myself to one or the other hey. It's just time, time, or lack of time that is. As you say, how do people find the time to write it all? Amazing. But when am I going to get the time to read??? I've been stupidly saving things to my favourites on my computer, but it's getting so full and I cant tell what's what now. Bookmarks sound great! So, it's sort of 'payment by comment' on lj - well that suits me totally down to the ground cos, you may have noticed, I find it really hard to be concise and write short messages and I have what you might call an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm to share! Hey again Dragonspell - you are a star, a star, a star - you hear me...?!! I've been to leonidasden, and my god, i'm so excited at the HUGE amount she has written, totally stunningly amazing. I'm sure I'd seen some of her work before on another slash archive site, but her lj is just frigging amazing! I am utterly gobsmacked!
Anyhoo, after going to her lj on your rec, I didn't know where to begin, so I plumped for a bit of pwp - I'm realising that there are fics for all occasions! And then I had a look, on your rec again, at Fetters. Now I'm all of a fluster cos I'm a bit of an ocd freak, so feel the need to start right at the beginning and work way properly through, but I'm hooked on fetters already, so I'm dithering in the middle. Whichever way I go, I just know it's going to be a good ride!
I've not had time to look at your other recs yet, but am full of happy anticipation.
And, I to find time to look at your bookmark - yeah!
It's all a little overwhelming, but in an excellent way, as in I'd like to take a month of work to really get into it, but having to ration myself on a daily basis is prolonging the pleasure.

Leonidaslion is one of the most prolific writers the Supernatural fandom has ever seen. And amazing to boot. She is one of my favorite writers ever. =D I'm glad that you like her!

(no such thing as over asking). A "<3" is a heart. It is used in place of ♥ and the like. When the 3 is used a lot it basically means a lot of love (as in <333).

Hee. There's nothing wrong with being older than 21 (...by a bit, as well I hope >_> I'm not getting any younger here...).
