Supernatural 1.04 Phantom Traveler

So I'm watching "The Phantom Traveler" on TNT and besides my absolute love for the baby!boys (and, you know, Dean in his black boxer-briefs...), I'm just struck at how much prettier the early seasons are from the current one. I would love it if we could get a few episodes with this kind of lighting. The colors are like the Impala. They're crystal and slick, bright flashes of color and highlights with sharp shadows. Like I said it's like the car itself, like it was shot just to emphasis how pretty that car is. And it goes so well with the overall feel of Supernatural. I love it.

And, you know, Dean's boxer-briefs.

Edit: Bloody Mary. Also one of my favorite episodes in terms of prettiness. Got a question, however: Why is Sam carrying all of Dean's cash? =D Oh, yeah, sure Dean doesn't like handing over pieces of control...

Heh, I'm watching as well and totally agree, Dean in boxer briefs is always a bonus.. Plus, there's no batman voice, I miss that. ♥ (And Sammy gets all controlling when Dean panics on the plane. Heh.)

Seasons 1 & 2 are still my favorite. It's so sad that Kim Manners is gone for the reasons you mentioned about lighting and such.

Gah. Love Sammy getting all controlling and serious with Dean on that plane. Freaking love it. =D Order him around more, Sam. ♥♥♥ And Dean's smile. I'd missed it.

I think seasons 1 and 2 will always be my favorites, too. I just adore them so much. I miss Kim Manners as well. =( The episodes that he directed were always just the most gorgeous in terms of cinematography.
